SPRING 2023 Sustainability Internship

Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary and Arboretum is seeking a motivated student interested in conservation and sustainability to help design and install a rain garden on our Heritage Farmstead. Beginning in February 2023, the intern will be expected to develop a plan for the site. Plan development will include researching storm water management practices and rain garden systems while working with Hawthorn Hollow’s Ecologist to select the appropriate native plants for the site. In spring 2023, the intern will assist with the installation of the garden and create educational and informational materials for the public under the advisement of Hawthorn Hollow’s Naturalist.

Although this position is unpaid, we encourage talking with your advisor about receiving college credit for this internship opportunity. Position is very flexible with time and days, however Hawthorn Hollow is closed on Mondays.
