Nestled beneath the towering trees and winding woodland trails of Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary & Arboretum, the Walk in the Woods Art Fair is far more than an art show, it’s an unforgettable experience where nature, creativity, and community come together in perfect harmony. Each year, thousands of visitors wander through scenic gardens and forest paths discovering one-of-a-kind artwork from talented artists and fine crafters from across the region. From handcrafted jewelry and vibrant paintings to glasswork, sculpture, photography, wood art, and garden creations, every turn along the trail offers something inspiring and unexpected.
What makes Walk in the Woods truly unique is its setting. Unlike a traditional art fair held in parking lots or city streets, this juried outdoor event invites guests to slow down, breathe in the beauty of nature, and experience art in an atmosphere filled with birdsong, fresh air, and towering trees. Live music echoes through the woods while families enjoy delicious food, children’s activities, observatory tours, raffles, and interactive experiences woven throughout the sanctuary grounds.
For more than three decades, the Walk in the Woods Art Fair has grown into one of southeastern Wisconsin’s most beloved and respected annual traditions, a celebration of imagination, craftsmanship, and the natural beauty that makes Hawthorn Hollow so special. Whether you come to shop for extraordinary handmade treasures, connect with local artists, or simply spend a magical day outdoors, this event offers an experience unlike any other.
