DESCRIPTION:On the morning of Monday\, June 3\, a large alignment of planets will take place. Being in the perfect positions within the solar system\, Jupiter\, Mercury\, Uranus\, Mars\, Neptune\, and Saturn will appear to “line up” across the morning sky in this particular order. \nWhile they are in their set orbits around the Sun\, these planets are not truly “lining up”. They are simply in perfect positions in their orbits in space to make them appear to “align” in Earth’s morning sky. \nReserve your tickets for this pop-up event at the Heide Observatory as we take a sneak peak of our solar system through multiple telescopes in the early morning! \nWatch for a confirmation email the night prior to this event. This event is weather dependant. Check your email before heading out to this event. DESCRIPTION:Moved to Friday May 3 (Due to rain forecast)\nSaturday\, May 4\, 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm and 11:30 pm – 1:30 am\nJoin us at The Heidi Observatory for a mesmerizing celestial experience! The Eta Aquariids\, one of two meteor showers originating from Halley’s comet\, will grace the night sky with their splendor. These meteors streak through the atmosphere at an astonishing speed of about 148\,000 miles per hour\, earning the Eta Aquariids the reputation of being one of the fastest meteor showers. \nDuring its peak\, we typically enjoy between 20 and 30 meteors per hour\, providing a captivating display for all who observe. Relax in our anti-gravity chairs and immerse yourself in the beauty of the night sky as we watch the meteors cascade overhead\, while also pointing out other fascinating celestial objects. \nEach 2-hour session will be confirmed by email at least 24 hours before the scheduled time\, contingent upon the cloud cover forecast (less than 40%).
